What is it about organization that makes me absolutely giddy?
We've had a little break in the action here, so I've spent my time putting things in their places. Yesterday, Owen and I organized and labeled. Seems as if a little bit of ownership in his stuff has created a little boy who is enthusiastic about putting his toys away. Plus, it gives him and his brother a little room to move in order to actually play with the toys, rather than just trip over them.

Speaking of ownership of our possessions, this topic comes up in a book I'm currently reading:
The authors talk about a new "family economy" which creates "a sense of ownership, responsibility, and self-sufficiency." I like it! I've just about had it with hand-outs. The current system of allowance just isn't working. I'm about half-way through the book, so I'll fill you in on implementing this new "family economy" when it comes to fruition.

Here's another good book I'm plowing through:
Recommended to me by a dear friend, this book really has me thinking. I don't know about you, but until about six months ago, I truly believed that women and men were basically the same, with the exception of some anatomical differences. But lo and behold! Men really do think differently than women.
And during my collective 18 years of marriage, I've been saying all the wrong things.
If you're anything like me and have basically no idea what your man is thinking most of the time, this book is for you.

What is that I feel as I walk out the door today? Could it be...snow? Timing couldn't be better for some outdoor activities during vacation week.

And finally today, something I just found on the web. Seems when you order an item on-line - say, cat litter - (you can actually do that. Order cat litter on-line and have it sent right to your door), you get umpteen emails from other companies wanting you to order cat litter from their company. So an email came to me from this company, showcasing this handy item:
It comes in a light-grained wood as well.
And on that note, I wish you a good day!

I do believe that someone has a few anal retentive tendencies? :) My husband is totally into organization, labels, etc. He married a free spirit, bless him. I think I might need to read that book ;)
Just a few ;) BTW, I was trying to poke fun at the fancy litter box - okay, ours does have a top on it, but it's made of plastic!
Organization just makes me feel so happy and stress-free (well, at least for the first day or so after organizing everything); it's a good thing for our check book that there aren't any Container Stores around here. :D
